Intro: There may be few restaurant or store-bought pizzas that can beat home-made. And this can be done fairly easy. For those who can make their own pizza crust, good for you. But good stores also carry already ready pizza crusts. Plus, as with many dishes, the sauce is the thing. You’ll definitely want to make that at home. It’ll be much better than any store-bought sauce in a jar, and less expensive. Let’s jump to the pizza sauce recipe:

Pizza Sauce (for about two pizzas):



2 Tbl. olive oil
2 minced garlic bulbs
28 oz. tomato sauce
6 oz. tomato paste
½ Tsp. honey
¾ Tsp. Himalayan salt
1 Tbl. basil (fresh or dried)
2 Tsp. oregano (fresh or dried)
Pepper and (fresh or dried)
Pepper and
red pepper flakes to taste.

Mix together and refrigerate until needed.

The pizza:


- Some red and while onion slices, quartered; some bell pepper, diced
- Some pepperoncini - Your choice of pepperoni, salami or whatever meat you want
- Chipolte powder, red pepper flakes, Cajun seasoning,
- Mozzarella, Colby, Parmesan
- Olive oil
- Anything else you want to add, like sliced black olive
Now, I’m cooking this on a stovetop, so I’ll cook the onion and bell pepper before. If you’re putting the pie under a broiler, skip that part.

Instructions:


- Cook the onion and bell pepper, unless using a broiler.
- Meanwhile, coat the pizza crust with the sauce, up to the edges. Add the cheeses except Parmesan
- Then add your meats, top with the onion and bell pepper.
- Sprinkle with your spices except the red pepper flakes.
- Add grated Parmesan, and sprinkle with red pepper flakes.
- If using a skillet, coat with olive oil; otherwise place on a pizza pan
- Cook until the cheese is melted, and remove, then serve in slices.
