Baja Bug: Body
Now all the metal has been chopped off, so now comes the fiberglassing. But before I do that, something else is needed: I want air conditioning!
At top right is the front frame, and those holes are original. Here a bracket is bolted on before the blower assembly.
Next photo is the AC blower ... the wheel-well and area were sprayed with some primer after being cleaned up.

Custom front
- Most every VW Beetle, including Super Beetles, do not have AC, which means if you live in the desert, you're out of luck. Well, that's not how it's going to be with this Baja Bug. The best source for an AC kit is Hot Rod Air in Texas. They have a kit for all Beetles, including the Super Beetle. Looking at the installation instructions, it's obvious I'm going to need to be inventive, since this isn't a stock VW anymore.
• Next the AC condenser is installed. I can't imagine how it would have jimmied into a stock VW! But with the front off, not a problem.
• The last two images are close-ups of the condenser installation on the left side. It doesn't look pretty now, but fiberglass will fix that.
